Kari began her professional education as a nurse in 2003. To fulfill her own desires for a family, Kari “retired” from hospital based care in 2005. After the birth of her second child in 2008 and assisting with a birth in early 2009, her passion for birth, mothers, and babies was reignited.
Kari began certification courses as a birth professional in 2009. She has completed the CAPPA Childbirth Educator training and is currently working to obtain her CAPPA certification. She has also completed the CAPPA and DONA Labor Doula training and is CAPPA certified.
In 2011, Kari will begin apprenticing homebirth midwife, Dotti Kirkpatrick and studying midwifery at the Midwives College of Utah.
Kari is also attending AMU to complete a Bachelor degree in Public Health.
It is Kari’s desire and personal belief that each woman is able to have the kind of birth she desires. Pregnancy and childbirth is one of the most profound experiences for a woman and her partner. Kari believes God gives grace and strength to each laboring woman.
She currently resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is blessed to have the support of her husband and two wonderful children.
